This year of community involvement with Rules of Engagement and Mayor's Institute has been a really good one. Hopefully it moves from simply being a great experiment to something that continues to be incorporated in courses throughout Clemson's different design disciplines. I can't express how important it is that Clemson University students continue to be involved with South Carolina's growing communities.
I think it would be great if there were a course offering, or assistantship opportunity, that allowed students to continue to work on the implementation of some of these ideas. Understanding the role of grants and other types of funding seems to be one last piece that could be developed within this community involvement framework. Nevertheless it has been an extremely full and beneficial year.
